Take flight with us during National Aviation Week at a special edition of STEM Saturday—a hands-on, family-friendly event designed to spark curiosity and creativity through flight-themed activities and challenges.
This month, we’re focusing on the science of aviation with paper airplane challenges that blend fun, learning, and just the right amount of friendly competition. Families will explore the principles of aerodynamics while building and testing their own designs.
Activities include:
The Longest Flight Challenge
See how far your paper airplane can fly. Participants will measure and record distances to see which plane goes the farthest. It’s a fun way to incorporate math and motion into hands-on play.
The Accuracy Challenge
Test your aim with our chalk-drawn runway target. Launch your airplane and try to hit the center—closest flyers win bragging rights.
All materials are provided, and kids of all ages are welcome to participate. This event is free and open to the public—no registration required.
