Downtown Hattiesburg is so appreciative of the long standing support from the City of Hattiesburg. Today the City of Hattiesburg was recognized for the development of The Commons at Gordon’s Creek and received the award for Outstanding Public Infrastructure Project at the Mississippi Main Street Association Annual Awards Luncheon.
The Commons at Gordon’s Creek transformed an overgrown, underutilized lot along Gordon’s Creek at the gateway to Downtown Hattiesburg into a vibrant, multiuse space for the community. This project was thoughtfully designed to support outdoor recreation, arts, and cultural programming while enhancing the aesthetic and functional appeal of Downtown Hattiesburg. Green spaces, walking paths, and public art were incorporated to create an inviting environment for residents and visitors alike. This new park will also serve as a hub for concerts, farmers’ markets, and other year-round events, providing a versatile space for community gatherings and cultural engagement.
We are so thrilled to see all the progress in Downtown Hattiesburg and look forward to the many projects, events, and partnerships to come!
