Change is coming to downtown Hattiesburg. The facade improvement grant program is funded through the Downtown Hattiesburg Association, Hattiesburg Landmark Preservation, the City of Hattiesburg, Forrest County Board of Supervisors, and Mississippi Power Foundation; the program awards funds to approved downtown properties to further revitalize building exteriors and is helping businesses to improve the outside of their buildings and create a new and improved downtown for everyone to enjoy. Aside from the Facade Improvement Grant Program, the City of Hattiesburg is putting in hard work to make downtown a destination for everyone. New parklets are being built on Front Street in front of Southbound and Nellie’s that will add extra outdoor seating to these restaurants.
