On Wednesday, March 29, Hattiesburg’s Veterans Committee will present a ceremony in honor of the service of our Vietnam Veterans. The ceremony will take place at Veterans Memorial Park at 5 p.m.
The program will begin at 5 p.m. and will include a special moment where two of our own Vietnam Veterans will read the 21 names of those we lost during the Vietnam War. The program will also include remarks from local leaders in our community.
Immediately following the program, the VFW Post 3036 will host a reception with food and fellowship at 3036 Ronie Street.
This ceremony is in partnership with the Vietnam War Commemoration and is marked to remember the date in 1973 when the United States Military Assistance Command, Vietnam was disestablished and also the day the last U.S. combat troops departed Vietnam.
